The Synovial Sarcoma Research Foundation is focused on initiating and supporting high-quality basic and translational research in synovial sarcoma. As from 2013 the SSRF has funded more than $300,000 in synovial sarcoma research grants at institutions in The Netherlands, Canada and the USA. These are the current projects that were awarded a “SSRF Breakthrough Grant”:

  • Next Generation Sequencing to find new treatment options - SSRF Breakthrough Grant EURO 160,000

    January 2013 - December 2015 The Netherlands

    The Synovial Sarcoma Research Foundation funded a three year research project at the University Medical Center St. Radboud Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Research professor was Prof. Dr. Winette van der Graaf.

  • International collaborative research specifically targeted at Synovial Sarcoma - SSRF Breakthrough Grant USD 125,000

    May, 2014 - May 2016 Canada – USA – The Netherlands

    This International Collaborative Grant was created to develop a coordinated research program in Synovial Sarcoma by taking advantage of the resources and research capacity of an international team of clinician investigators and scientists.

  • SARC Sarcoma Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPORE) - SSRF Breakthrough Grant USD 50,000

    September 2017 - September 2021 USA

    We enthusiastically confirm that the Synovial Sarcoma Research Foundation will contribute $10,000 annually ($50,000 over the 5-year period) to support developmental project and career developmental awards described in the SARC Sarcoma SPORE application.
